It is with a heavy heart that I have blocked the IP of Vardom, and subsequently daLong (sorry) from this forum. They are no longer able to compete in contests, as results and contest information are only found on the forum, however they do still (as of now) have accounts in the game, so be aware and report any PK abuse by Vardom. (sometimes folks this childish may go one step further, but I doubt it in this case)

Vardom was repeatedly warned about spam/not on topic posts (ie not in correct thread). After my last warning he was apparently so pissed he edited all of his posts to

Resolution:

Vardom will be banned. Account Deactivated.

IP block will be lifted so that DaLong has access to the forum.
(DaLong is a member of the community, in good standing.)

Even a hint of funny stuff though and I will need to re-instate the IP ban.

I hope Vardom feels that a formal written apology is in order. I know that I do. (support ticket from the .com is the way to go about this)

Thank you for announcing this. I was curious as to what had happened.

Let this be an example for any future offenders. We have rules and they must be followed.

Vardom was upset, and after he was banned from the forum he decided to peacefully leave the server. I would like to point out that though he /did/ do those things which lead about to his ban on this forum, he left the chat in a very respectful and upright way; when asked about why he was leaving, he politely noted that he had been banned on the forum and did nothing else to argue his point. No admin bashing, and when asked to elaborate on his side of what happened, he wouldn't. He refused to make any bigger splashes.

So it was a big step away from PK abuse or anything like that. He even gave me his account information so that I could return avadon robes to sakura and some borrowed equipment to smurf (I forget what it was), among returning equipment to many other players.

Please don't misunderstand me. I do NOT advocate any actions which give our admins extra work. They already work for free to give me this incredible service. I did, however, feel it was necessary to post something to Vardom's credit; he didn't wait to be banned, he respectfully conceded and set out to better pastures.

Yes I actually agree with you.

I find it rather ironic the way that Vardom decided to do things, since his actions were downright childish in so many ways but somehow had some respect in the end for all his fellow gamers.

Very often these things turn sour, with PKs, Admin/Server bashing, etc.

That is why my response was very quick and firm with an IP ban, which was resolved later that day with a very polite IM session.

In all truth I felt like Vardom was a member of the community, and I wish he had been able to follow the rules a little more closely.
